Our Sponsored Pup Declan!

An update from Declan's Socialiser, Heidi

It’s hard to believe our time with Declan is coming to an end—he has been such a joy to have around, and we’re so proud of how much he’s grown in these past few weeks! He’s matured into a confident, happy boy and has been an absolute pleasure to socialise.

Declan has handled all sorts of environments like a pro, from navigating lifts and stairs to exploring busy shops. We also had a holiday trip to the beach, where he loved running around the sand dunes. The sea wasn’t quite his thing, but he had a great time nonetheless!

A highlight was the family day at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM)
Lympstone, which was quite the experience. He wasn’t too sure about the military band, but he did amazingly well with all the shouting recruits and the bustling atmosphere. It’s been wonderful to see him grow more resilient with every new challenge.

At home, Declan has been such a good boy. He’s happy being left for short periods and keeps himself entertained with his Kong and lick mat. His absolute favorites, though, are his dinosaur and sprout soft toys—they’ve been through a lot of chewing and de-stuffing but are still his prized possessions. We’ll make sure they go with him to his new boarder (with a bit of TLC beforehand!).

It’s always such a privilege to spend time with these incredible puppies, helping them learn, grow, and get ready for their future roles as life-changing assistance dogs. Declan has been no exception—he’s brought so much joy and laughter to our lives, and we know he’s going to go on to change someone's life.
We’ll miss him dearly, but we’re so excited for what’s next on his journey.
